Half the "my internet is slow" calls I get are really "my Wi-Fi doesn't reach the room I'm in." Bigger houses around here, brick walls, a router the cable company stuck in a closet. The internet coming into the house is fine. It just isn't getting to you.
I'll test the connection where it comes in, then test it where you actually sit. If the router is the problem I'll say so. If you need a second access point in the back of the house I'll tell you what to buy, not the most expensive one, and set it up. If the problem is the cable company, I'll tell you that too and tell you exactly what to say when you call them.
This is a house call. I can't test your back bedroom from my house.
Sometimes. For a big one-story house or a two-story with the router at one end, yes, it helps a lot. For a smaller house, usually just moving the router fixes it. I'll measure before I recommend anything.
Yes. Getting those things on the Wi-Fi and staying on it is part of the same visit.
Sometimes. I'll test the line at the wall so you know for sure before you spend an hour on hold with them.
