A slow computer is the most common call I get, and it's almost never the computer's fault. It's what has piled up on it. Programs that start themselves every time you turn it on. Updates that never finished. A hard drive that's full or on its way out. Sometimes it's "free" software that came bundled with something you downloaded in 2019.
I don't guess. I look. I'll show you what's running, what's eating memory, and what's safe to turn off. If the drive is the problem, I'll tell you, and I'll tell you whether it's worth replacing or whether it's time for a new machine. I don't sell computers, so I have no reason to push one on you.
Most slow-computer calls I can handle remotely in about an hour. You watch the whole thing on your screen. If it needs a part, I come to the house.
Usually not. If the computer is under about seven years old, a cleanup and sometimes a drive upgrade makes it feel new. If it's older than that, I'll give you a straight answer about whether to put money into it.
Yes, most of the time. You call, I send you a link, you click it, and I work on your computer while you watch. If a part needs replacing I'll come out.
No. Cleaning up a slow computer doesn't touch your documents or photos. If a drive is failing, I'll talk to you about backing up before anything else.
Call (803) 265-8088. If I'm under someone's desk, leave a message and I'll call you back the same day.
$175 remote or $275 at your house, up to two hours. Card when it's done.
